Great watch let down by poor hardlex crystal
Great watch, made for the Japanese domestic market and rare in the UK. I purchased the blue dial SZSB0028. It has a lovely teal blue reflective dial and 12 - 6 markers, pale green luminova and the dial is very detailed and legible. The watch comes on a Osyetr style bracelet which is true to the original Rolex bracelet from yester-year and has a 20mm lug width tapering to 16mm at the clasp. I would have preferred a full length snap clasp in keeping with tradition, instead of the quick realease smaller clasp. The bracelet is failry short with all the links, measuring a maximum 8" wrist with all links. The case is a nice size at 40mm, the crown is unsigned and not screw down, although they gaurantee 100 metre water resistancy. It's comfortable to wear and slips easily under shirt sleeves and is light on the wrist. What really lets this watch down is the awful domed Hardlex crystal, It should'nt be on a watch of this price and really does the watch a diservice. It renders the dial barely legiable if viewed at certain angles, especially in bright sunlight and has a smoky cheap look. The watch should have been fitted with a flat mineral glass with internal anti reflective coating and cyclops eye and it would have looked the business.
