Seiko Marinemaster Professional Diver 300m SBDX017

Ordered the watch and it got shipped on 28/4. Received the watch on the 1/5. Really outstanding service from Erika who was patient and very responsive. Received some freebies which included a postcard and snack. I really appreciate it and the watch was in pristine working condition. This watch is out of production but when I opened the box it felt like the watch was produced this year. Thank you again to Erika and the team!

I took delivery of my SBDX017 a couple of weeks ago and am thoroughly enjoying it. I have owned several of the original SBDX001s and a couple of 017s over the last several years. What has always drawn me to this model is the strong history of the company in dive watch making and also the heritage of this particular model as a decendant of the 6215-7000. There is lots to like for those who appreciate what a tool watch used to be, even a higher end one. They used to be tough, highly legible, and would look good whether you're on the beach or in the boardroom. This ticks the boxes. This has a very well finished, attractive, and solid monocoque case with drilled through lugs to make strap changes easy. The luminosity of the dial and hands at night are second to none. The dial, signed with the Marinemaster name is matte black, almost grey, and very reminiscent to sport watch dials of the past. Newer Marinemaster versions, have some very nicely upgraded materials now, but in my view, they lack a bit of the old school dive watch charm that this model still offers. I suppose we could call this a transitional MM. With Mems technology, the old dial script and diashield, this is the best MM out there for me. I highly recommend it for those who want a bit of nostalgia in a superb diver like this one.

Overwhelmingly pleased to obtain a (new) MM300. I have a SLA019 but I favor the Marinemaster text over the PROSPEX X on the dail. Extremely fast and responsive service. Received my SBDX017 within a week of ordering, new in the box as advertised.

If you've been on the fence about buying this Marine Master you really should. Trying to find a new old stock one is not that easy, grab one while you can. Whilst the case dimensions seem large on paper the way the design hides the heft is incredible; a little slice of Seiko magic. The fit and finish make this stealth luxury: Zaratsu flanks, helium proof monobloc case is a talking point, hand applied lume, marvellous bezel action, hand assembled 8l35. Mine is keeping a consistent +3.7 over a the course of a month, 0.0 beat error and 300 amplitude. It's a beast! Service, speed and communication from Shopping In Japan is excellent. I like dealing with this company. They treated me very nicely over the years. It didn't matter if I spent $300 of $6000. Prices are on the higher end but most of the time they have models that are no longer available new anywhere else. Great communication and shipping was super smooth.
