Seiko SBDX014 Marinemaster Emperor Tuna Rose Gold

Grail Tuna!! Lucky to have found this JDM version in new condition. A beast of a watch that sits perfectly on wrist. The 014 is special - Marinemaster on dial, rose gold lettering, and date at 4 o’clock. If I could have only one Tuna, this would be it!! great service, beautiful watch - the quality is amazing

This watch is the real deal ! It is very well built, very elegant, for the tool watch that it is. The build quality, materials and attention to details are amazing for this kind of watch. It's a true eye candy. Mind you - it has a lot of presence. But I have to say that given its size, it is not as heavy as I was expecting, probably thanks to the titanium case and ceramic shroud. I have a Seiko SUN 023 to compare to. I believe the SUN 023 is i tad lighter, but on the hand it feels the opposite. Even the titanium case feels nicer on the wrist thanks to its lower thermal conduction (it keeps a pleasant temperature even when its colder or warmer outside). Also, it is very comfortable on the hand, despite its size. The lume is amazing, as you'd expect from a Seiko dive watch. The watch is very legible, in any lighting condition, and the AR coating on the crystal makes it easy to read, unless you're intentionally looking at a source of light through the crystal. The band has a nice, soft feeling, and feels very strong. The crown works like butter, with no play at all. The Prospex signature on it is subtle enough as to not ruin the legacy MARINEMASTER experience. The 120-click bezel has the perfect amount of resistance, is perfectly aligned wit the minute marks, and has a very tactile feedback when turning. The hands are nice, with that golden border to match the other rose-golden parts, and so is that subtle rose-gold printing at 6 o'clock : MARINEMASTER AUTOMATIC PROFESSIONAL 1000m - so lovely :-). I'm glad this model does not have the Prospex writing or symbol on the watch face, keeping the classic MARINEMASTER look. What can I say - I was saving for this grail watch for a long time, and finally decided that my 50th birthday is the perfect excuse to buy it. I was disappointed when I was not able to find it in stores in Israel, when I finally decided to purchase it via shoppinginjapan.net, which was a perfect purchase experience, and the watch itself does not disappoint one bit. I really hope Seiko keeps making these legendary high end dive watched, even when it started creating their cheeper and lesser siblings, to broaden their market.

The item arrived early, in perfect condition, safely packed. The watch is a unique marvel, but you probably already know that, there are many reviews in YouTube. I have had the SBDX014 for almost two weeks. It wears great, and it looks great, not overbearing at all. The Rose Gold highlights make it look like it cost more than it did. I am a Seiko dive watch fan and own ten of them. I am particularly fond of the automatic Seiko calibers. I have always wanted a Seiko Tuna so when Seiko announced this anniversary edition it was more than I could stand. Although somewhat cost prohibitive, I pulled the trigger on this purchase. After receiving the watch and wearing it (and yes, I even wear it to work) I find it to be more comfortable to wear and more beautiful than expected. I would purchase this watch again in a minute! Great Job Seiko! P. S. I also have the rose gold anniversary edition of the Seiko Five and love it.
