Seiko SARG009 Mechanical Automatic Stainless steel

At first I wasn't 100% sure I'd made the right decision between this and dressier SARB033. I wanted an everyday wearer for work which wasn't too flashy but every time I looked at it, I wondered what the SARB would look like! Now that's all over. I love the domed sapphire and the serf numerals, the quality of the bracelet is certainly better than the SARB. It's a keeper.

The watch looks very chic and and shows a perfect workmanship in the smallest detail and is worth every cent.

The watch is superb in construction and the accuracy is in the range of COSC. The bracelet is a bit too light for my taste but not bad. The only downside is that the big numbers could be not appropriate for a more dressy style, and this may reduce the versatility of the watch.

I've bought Seiko jdm watches before, but first time from shoppinginjapan . The watch is everything I hoped and the service was first class , I'm sure I will use shopping in Japan again.

First of all , please let me explain the reason for 4 stars. It has been a nerve wrecking experience buying Seiko on line. Almost always there is something cosmetically wrong with them; scratches, nicks, dents etc etc. Functionality has never been a problem but somehow 8 out of 10 times there's some cosmetic trouble. This is my 5th purchase from SIJ. Had to return a limited edition watch because of nicks on the back case cover. The next buy , a SARG011, had a scratch which was hardly visible. No consolation cos you know it's there. Didn't bother sending it back as SIJ wanted picture proof and it would have been difficult to prove my case as the scratch was difficult to take picture of. Next surprise was that it seemed to me that SIJ did not hold the stock of some models they sold and they got them directly from Seiko when a online customer places an order. Only when an item is ordered the item is procured from Seiko. Are we getting substandard products or am I just unlucky? As for this watch ,SARG 009, I gave it a cursory inspection and all seemed ok. I actually was afraid to look too far for fear of finding another cosmetic flaw. And that it did not get my usual scrupulous inspection made me give a 4 star rating. I am positive ShoopinginJapan is not th culprit here . Who is , I leave that to your imagination.

Am generally very impressed with the timekeeping in over a week is still within 6 seconds, provided the watch is placed face down at night any daytime loss appears to be made up. Am disappointed that the crown does not screw down and the finish on the crown has sharp edges. Bearing in mind price am very happy with the purchase. The delivery was most impressive. Will deal again with this business.
