Seiko Ripley SCED035 Giugiaro Design

Good looking retro-watch from Seiko, a real eyecatcher and very similar to the original Seiko alien watch worn by Ellen Ripley. The service by shoppinginjapan.net was also fine.

This is one special watch! But firstly I must tell anyone who is thinking of buying from Shopping in Japan, their customer service is the best I have come across in a very long time! I was kept informed of my order in person by Sara every step of the way, even when I had made a mistake when I purchased the watch Sara quickly helped me out, very reassuring when you're buying on the other side of the world! If you're looking at getting one then chances are you know about the history of this model anyway, if not it's worth a google ;) It's a little smaller than I expected however it does sit well on the wrist and has a nice weight although not too heavy, the retro futuristic bracelet strap is very comfortable. Really really love this watch. It's exactly as I expected it to be and more. There was a slight problem with the delivery because I was out of the country, but Shopping in Japan was wery helpful and responsive until I got my watch.

Giorgetto Giugiaro is a ledgendy product designer and this watch has all the hallmarks, the watch looks amazing and Its link with the film Aliens tops it off, I've had many compliments about the watch and buying from shopping in Japan was excellent with plenty of communication about each stage of my order.

Everybody, has seen Aliens in the 80's and on the wrist of Ripley this special designed Seiko featured whilst she was fighting the Aline. The Seiko SCED035 is an excellent watch, a reissue of the classic watch designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro in the 80's for Seiko. Originally designed to be a watch for automobile racers, hence the easy to operate chronograph function for drivers wearing gloves. It quickly gained fame as the watch worn by Ripley in the movie Aliens. With such an awesome story behind it, the terrific build quality as is typical of Seiko and the excellent customer service from Mina at Shopping in Japan, I'm incredibly happy with my purchase.
