Seiko Brightz Active Matrix EPD SDGA009

Very beautiful, simplistic design in brushed black with high gloss black details that make this watch sparkle discreetly. I appreciate the big sapphire glass that gives the watch a big appearance. This is a watch that I wouldn't mind wearing for business. It's a hard coated steel watch. I expect it to be somewhat scratch resistant, but I would feel even more confident if it were "Diashield", a DLC coating. The movement is an updated version of that in Seiko' s previous EPD watches. Although screen refresh speed is somewhat slow, it's significantly faster than in the older EPD watches (e.g. SDGA001) that I have seen reviewed on YouTube. The screen is stunning. Very high resolution and contrast and good viewing angle. It's very legible even in low light. Reflections are not a problem even though there is no anti-reflective coating as far as I understand. I believe the watch is identical in function to the SBPA-series EPD watches. The "watch face" styles appear to be the only difference. The watch is very easy and intuitive to operate. Somewhat to my surprise, the watch exits automatically from a nice info-screen after a minute or so from activation. A "dual time" screen looks very nice, and can be used permanently if so desired. Seconds can be shown at the push of a button (for one minute), but note that there is no count down timer and no stop watch function. In summary, this is a great watch. Both looks and functions are impressive. Very good value for the money.
