The 5 Sports SBSA271 bring a new design that closely mimics the 5 Sports 5126-8090 Kamen Rider. The case design is heavily inspired by the old model but updated with modern proportions and materials.

This re-creation SKX watch have a compact 38.5mm diameter case and a short 44.8mm lug-to-lug measurement. They retain the classic 5 Sports series elements, including a barely visible crown at 4 o’clock, a Hardlex mineral glass, a rotating bezel with a silver-toned metallic insert, and a screwed back. They are water-resistant up to 100m, an improvement over the original 70m. The boxy shape evokes a 1960s-1970s vibe that will resonate with brand enthusiasts.

The dials of the SBSA271 are also reminiscent of the original designs. The watch features the matte black surface and have a graphic minute track with blocks, baton markers with lume inserts, straight hands, and a red lollipop seconds hand. The day-date window has an unusual shape, and the light blue “Sports” mention is a nod to the past. Even the original Seiko 5 logo has been recreated for this limited release.

Seiko has also revived the single-link stainless steel bracelet for these models, fully brushed on the top, enhancing their overall appeal. The bracelet is secured with a folding clasp with a push-button release. Additionally, a retro rally-styled black leather strap is included in the box.
