Casio Protrek Manaslu PRX-8000YT-1JF Black Titanium

First about this site it delivered the watch 4 days before the date confirmed, as for the watch it is extremely clear, very nice on the hand but indeed big... on my 17.5cm watch it is still quite big... but I'm used to big watches so I still like it... lume is good not as great as Seiko diving but still very good... watch is very light and good on the hand.

High quality materials are used and this shows. The result is a very beautifull watch that looks good on the wrist, not only in survival situations. It will become my companion for all outdoor activities. Scratch resistant sapphire crystal will keep it protected and it's very light to wear because the case and wrist band are made of Titanium. No worry for batteries due the solar charge system, and it works. After downloading the manual, and reading it of course, there where no secrets anymore. Easy to use. Hard to find weak points. It's expensive but will last forever, no regrets there. The wrist band kan easily be adjusted in three lengths, so it can be worn above the sleeve easily in order to catch daylight. After initial calibration the barometric pressure is very accurate. Height and temperature will also need calibration on the spot, but that's normal. For European customers (as myself) the date is displayed Month before Day. We're not used to that. You can put up to five alarms in the watch and also a little beep every hour. Unfortunately these alarms are rather silent, to weak to wake me up anyway. These are the only minor points I could find. Why this watch is not available for the European market is a riddle to me, you will not find it on the ProTrek website. This makes it even more exclusive. There is also a 60th Anniversary edition, but I discovered that after ordering this one. Same watch but with a coin on the back. Bringing it to Europe costed me an additional 300,-€ Tax & Customs. But would buy it again anyway.

Very nice watch, easy to use and to understand the functions. What I appreciate the most, is the fact that the "black" patina of the watch (Black Titanium material with diamond-like carbon (DLC) coating) its very well treated and it's very well scratch resistant !!! I also have an TISSOT T-TOUCH EXPERT SOLAR black - which is very sensitive to scratches :) For those who are addicted to watches like these, don't hesitate :) , just buy it !!! It's a MUST HAVE !!!
