Excellent luxury quartz watch
Look and feel: Bezel is about 40mm. Case is relatively thin, which I like. It is lighter than most watches, as expected from a Titanium watch. But does not feel cheap or tinny in any way. It will be a great summer watch. Polished surfaces are hard to describe, deep and mirror-like. Whatever that "Zaratsu polishing" thing is, it makes a difference. Crystal is ever so slightly curved. AR coating works well. The coating is only on the inside, so it's not prone to scratches. Bracelet is very nice. Tasteful blend of polished and brushed surfaces. It's all TIC treated and machined titanium, including the four end links and clasp. Half links are included in both sides. Adjustment is easy, as the collars are located in the middle, not the edge. The clasp does not trap water. Several people owning the ATTESA, EXCEED and MANTA confirmed that the titanium coating of the Manta is significantly more durable. Time will tell. Functions: Amazingly simple and intuitive (for such a watch). The crown helps a lot: - Pull and rotate the crown to switch between different time zones. - Push the button below to get into stopwatch, push again to get back to time mode (push button above to start and stop stopwatch). Stopwatch can run the background. - Push button above to see if last time sync went well, push and wait two seconds to force sync (auto sets time, day and date). Most watches with hands driven by step-motors have some sort of "hand aligning mode", as the watch has no idea where the hands actually point at in real life, especially after a battery replacement, shock, magnetism, or static electricity (much easier to trigger than you might think). Aligning hands is often a tedious process. Oceanus has this internal "LED-holes in gear-photovoltaic cell" arrangement that informs the watch where the hands actually point at. The watch continuously self-checks the alignment (you can trigger a "check on demand" if you wish so). I like that a lot. The video illustrating the mechanism is here: G-SHOCK The world time function of some watches require that you know the daylight savings time is in effect or not (DST or STD). Oceanus has a third AUTO setting. It actually knows if and when a daylight savings time is in effect in a given time-zone. Pretty useful for international travelers. Seiko 6m15 and Citizen World Perpetual does not have this future. Atomic syncing works without issues in GA. Lume: Not great, but very good. Blue color.
